An important way to find a PS5 is to constantly check the major sites that sell the PS5, such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Kohl’s, Sam’s Club, Costco, Sony Direct, GameStop, and Antonline, and refresh the page frequently.

On December 3, Target released the PS5 stock online across the United States, but the stock appears to have dried up. Antonline had a short-lived replenishment on the same day, but it sold out quickly. Costco also restocked the PS5 pack, but it also ran out. All of this means that there is a stock of PS5s out there and so refreshing and paying attention to the retailer’s website is the way to go.

Walmart Canada released PS5 units on December 4, but they are also sold out. They were planning to sell the Xbox Series X today online with new stock, but sent a Tweet that they were delaying this until further notice.

Best Buy often shows a stock shortage, but several times it has given me an “Open Box” option for stocks. It was gone as quickly as others grabbed the available stock, but it was there. So someone grabbed one. The last time I saw this was on November 25, so it’s been a few days, but others have reported on social media that they’ve seen the same more recently.

Here are other places to look for a PS5 right now. Retailers like GameStop have bundles of a PS5 console or digital edition paired with controllers and games for around $ 800, and they sell out fast. Adorama posted limited stock online Monday morning, but it sold out in four minutes.

Remember to continue to check Walmart regularly. There were quite a few people who reported walk-in purchases at Walmart this weekend.

Buying a PS5 directly from Sony is a definite possibility, as they also restock periodically. A queue is formed when stock is available and it gives an approximate waiting time and will allow you to enter the buying area once your time arrives. It actually happened once for me, and it told me my wait time would be over an hour, but by the time the queue opened I got was away from my laptop and missed my chance after being in a digital line for about 90 minutes. But this option works, even if you have been waiting for a very long time like I did that day, so there is hope.

At 5 p.m. EST on December 3, Sony opened the queue again. I immediately jumped on it, thanks to social media alerts. The first notice said I had over an hour to wait, but in about 20 minutes it turned into a 45 minute wait. And then around 5:30 p.m. he said my wait was down to 17 minutes and then at 5:38, 11 minutes. (No, time doesn’t count down in an orderly fashion. It kind of skips.) Sony’s next update, unfortunately, at 5:45 p.m., indicated that they were out of stock. I did not score a PS5. I was so close.

Follow PS5 social media accounts

Another option is to use social media to your advantage. There are plenty of social media accounts providing regular updates on retailers with potential PS5 merchandise drops. Employees who work in stores leak information, and shoppers display receipts when they find units in the store.
