Cyberpunk 2077, the futuristic dystopian adventure game from CD Projekt Red, has had a tough few weeks. Critics hammered the company over the many bugs and glitches encountered in the game. Then on Thursday, Sony’s PlayStation division released the game from its digital storefront, offering refunds to all dissatisfied customers. And now, while Microsoft is still selling the game, it has also announced that it will offer refunds to customers who request them.

“We know that the developers of CD Projekt Red have worked hard to deliver Cyberpunk under extremely difficult circumstances,” Microsoft said in a statement Friday. he posted on Twitter. “To date, we have provided refunds to the vast majority of customers who request them. To ensure that every gamer can get the experience they expect on Xbox, we will extend our existing refund policy to offer a full refund to anyone who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 digitally from the Microsoft Store, until further notice. “

The game, released on December 10, has been widely criticized as being released too early, with many groundbreaking bugs. Despite the messy experience, critics praised the title for its intricate graphics and well-told story. But gamers playing on older devices, especially the 2013 Xbox One and PlayStation 4, claimed the title. is incredibly slow.

Poland-based CD Projekt Red has since apologized to customers and admitted that its marketing and advertising does not properly reflect how the game played on older devices. “We should have paid more attention to improving the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” the company said on its website and on Twitter.

The game was originally scheduled to launch in April; then it was delayed until September 17; then November 19; then on December 10. Now that the game is out, and in such a buggy state, the developer has said he’s working on a series of “big fixes” to fix the issues. Patches will be provided free of charge over the Internet to those who own the game.

The first patch is slated for release in January, and a second is slated for February. In either case, the company says it is focusing on fixing bugs rather than adding new features or stories.
