Jerry Rice tells Randy Moss to look at the stats: “You got Mossed”

When Randy Moss called himself the best receiver of all time and Jerry Rice is only third or fourth, Rice noticed.

Rice posted her response to Instagram, along with a list of her career stats and Moss’s career stats. This list looks like this:

Seasons: Rice 21, foam 14.

Receptions: Rice 1549, Moss 982.

Yards: Rice 22 895, foam 15 292

Touchdowns: Rice 197, Moss 156.

Super Bowl wins: Rice 3, foam 0.

Super Bowl MVP: Rice 1, foam 0.

The career statistics are not close. Moss made big numbers early in his career, but at 33 he had his worst season of his career, at 34 he didn’t play at all and at 35 he was a substitute before taking his retirement. Rice had over 9,000 receiving yards after turning 33.

The argument for Moss is that at his best he was capable of more spectacular plays than Rice. But in comparing all of their work, Rice has the big advantage.

Rice concluded her Instagram post with a comment Moss uses in his TV work when one player dominates another: “You just MOSSED!
