Sam Koch’s back-to-back 15-year gameplay streak in jeopardy as Ravens punter makes COVID-19 list

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Baltimore Ravens punter Sam Koch was placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Wednesday, jeopardizing his 15-year streak in a row.

Koch was banned from training on Wednesday after his latest COVID-19 test came back inconclusive, a source told ESPN. He hasn’t missed a game since his sixth-round draft by the Ravens in 2006, playing a franchise record 239 straight.

Further testing will determine how long Koch will be out.

Koch’s potential loss comes days before the Ravens’ critical season finale to the Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore (10-5) can grab a wildcard spot by beating Cincinnati.

If Koch is out, kicker Justin Tucker would likely replace him. Tucker is averaging 40.5 yards on 155 punts in Texas.

The other problem is that Koch is the holder of extra points and field goals. Tight end Mark Andrews took a few shots as the start at training camp.
