The best comedy shows to watch on Netflix now that the Office is gone

After years of dominating the streaming charts, Office will be leaving Netflix on January 1, 2021 for its new home on Peacock. In the nine years that Office was on Netflix, millions of fans have discovered it and millions more have watched it, sometimes dozens of times.

But do not worry. If you scroll Netflix for sitcoms to fill the Dunder Mifflin-shaped hole in your heart, there are plenty of other great options (and a few not so good) that are still on the service. Here are five sitcoms to binge-watch on Netflix.

Development stopped follows a wealthy family trying to adjust to a new life after their patriarch was dragged to jail for a litany of financial crimes. Development stopped is also one of the funniest sitcoms ever made. It has an exceptional cast of characters and dialogue that often manages to squeeze two or three jokes into each line. It’s another ensemble comedy, this time about a girl moving into an apartment with a bunch of guys she barely knows. The show’s real highlight is the back-and-forth between all the roommates as they toss one-off jokes or light, playful slurs. Just like seeing again Office for the zillionth time, the show is more about spending time with the characters you love than the things they do episode after episode.

Schitt Creek

On the tracks of Development stopped, Schitt Creek It’s also the story of a wealthy family who lose everything … except, in this case, they can keep the tiny town of Schitt’s Creek, which the family bought as a joke when they were still rich. However, after the sudden bankruptcy of the family, they are forced to move to town and live in a motel.
