An Apex Legends player devised a clever plan to confuse their opponents by pretending to be the MRVN Easter Egg on the Olympus map. It’s fair to say it was an overwhelming success, embarrassing hordes of enemies.
Apex Legends Season 7 launched on November 4, and with it came the all-new map, Olympus. As with any Apex map, Respawn has provided a few surprises for fans to check out while they play. One of those Easter eggs is the disabled MRVN robot, located in the maintenance area of the island.
For fans, this discovery was extremely exciting, as it was the first MRVN robot besides Pathfinder that was found. On top of that, Respawn also made the Easter Egg destructible, so players could kill the disabled robot if they wanted to.
The MRVN Easter Egg is located in a hotly contested dropzone on Olympus.
Apex Legends player uses MRVN robot to confuse enemies
A thread posted to the Apex Legends subdirectory revealed a trick to confuse opponents using Pathfinder and the MRVN Easter Egg. At the time of writing, the post had more than 8,000 upvotes and nearly 200 comments.
Where most players have just seen a single Easter Egg, Kam1yo saw an opportunity not to be missed. He decided to take on the role of Pathfinder and replace the MRVN Easter Egg with himself to see if his opponents noticed him.
The simple trick was incredibly effective with countless opponents overtaking it, some even stopping to take a look at what they thought was the MRVN’s Easter Egg.
At one point, he even chose to strike an enemy before resuming his position as an MRVN robot again. The opposing Mirage was completely at a loss, unaware of what had happened.

It’s fair to say that this trick was a smash hit and many Apex players were completely confused. However, this may be something gamers will now be wiser since its discovery and the popularity of the Reddit post. Countless players will now take the opportunity to pass themselves off as MVRN.
Now, however, it looks like your best bet is to take the robot out every time you enter the room from now on. After all, prevention is better than cure.
