Black Ops Cold War brings the latest killcams back to Search & Destroy

The Sledgehammer has become available for players to unlock through a Black Ops Cold War challenge. However, a bug resets players’ progress, preventing them from acquiring the melee weapon.

Black Ops Cold War x Warzone Season 1 is underway, which means you have plenty of new weapons. The Sledgehammer is the second Cold War melee weapon that you can now unlock.

If you want to get your hands on it, you have to complete a challenge that will make you overtake with your knife. The difficulty of this task has been made worse by an issue that resets player progress without any prior warning.

Sledgehammer Glitch continues to reset player progress

The exact settings of the challenge require you to score 15 double wins with the knife in separate matches. Completing this in Multiplayer, Warzone, or Zombies should unlock the Sledgehammer, but it doesn’t work properly.

Many players have reported that the game randomly resets their progress while away from the challenge. This caused them to start the whole challenge over again and prevented them from acquiring the weapon.

Several topics have been posted in the Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War subdirectory, where fans come together to express their frustration with the issue. You can check out any of these articles below.

Reddit user Klankson wrote, “I was trying to take the challenge and I got to 10/15, but when I checked my progress it came down to 5/15. It’s okay, but it’s boring all the same.

This problem is frustrating and makes the whole challenge seem unnecessary. You can still use the Sledgehammer Blueprint even if you haven’t unlocked it, but it’s in a $ 20 bundle, and you won’t get any weapon level progression until you complete the challenge.

How to get around the Sledgehammer problem

The exact cause of this issue is not known at this time, but a few players have suggested playing a full game out of the 15 kills in order to avoid resetting your progress in the challenge. A helpful tip came from donny126.

“All people. You have to play the full game out of 15 or that resets your progress. In fact, you have to play a game after the 15 where you equip it and also play until the end if you want to ensure that. it won’t go away. Duck game “

A few players have tried this solution, and it seems to have worked. It won’t be easy, so you’ll have to rack up those double attacks quickly. The best way to do this is to play Nuketown ’84 with the knife as your primary.

Also make sure you have the correct class equipped to get the drop on your enemies, like Ninja or or Tracker. This map is small enough that you can encounter enemies more frequently, so be prepared for a fight. Doing this will eventually allow you to get the Sledgehammer.

Although this issue is experienced by several players in the community, there are no fixes planned for this one listed on the Black Ops Cold War Trello board. So fans will have to stick with using the workaround for a while.

It is likely that Treyarch and Raven Software are not yet aware of the bug. Hopefully, they will announce a fix soon and we’ll be sure to update you when they do.
