In a New Years edition of ESPN’s College GameDay, it looks like Kirk Herbstreit, David Pollack, Desmond Howard, and Lee Corso are all on the same page.
In the selection of the four college football games, including the PSC semi-final games, scheduled for Friday, it was a clean sweep of the selections except for one game.
The Peach Bowl, featuring Georgia and Cincinnati, had guys offering different opinions.
Herbstreit and Howard went with the Bearcats.
Pollack, on the other hand, said that while the game is really close, “JT Daniels is the difference at the quarterback.” Pollack’s Georgia pick was backed by Corso, who said Georgia will cover the 7-point gap.
Citrus Bowl: Northwestern-Auburn
Meanwhile, no one picked Auburn to beat Northwestern in the Citrus Bowl.
Herbstreit, citing the coaching changes for Auburn and the tough defense by Northwestern, goes with the Big Ten school.
Pollack thinks it will be a competitive game, but “I don’t know with Auburn with the turmoil and the coaching staff.”
Howard called the change in Auburn Chaos.
“Northwestern was one of the few good stories of 2020,” Corso said. “They win with defense. Take the sub at 43. “
Rose Bowl: Alabama-Notre Dame
“It will be a competitive game,” said Herbstreit. “Notre Dame is going to fight and keep her much closer than people think. At the end of the day, Alabama is too beautiful.
Howard, Pollack and Corso agreed.
Sugar bowl: Ohio State Clemson
Desmond: Clemson
Pollack: Clemson
Course: Clemson
Herbstreit did not choose because he calls the match.
