MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Twin Cities’ first baby of 2021 was born shortly after the clock struck midnight.
M Health Fairview St. John’s in Maplewood greeted John Robert Hennessey at 12:27 pm He weighs 6 pounds and 11 ounces.
“He appears to be a really laid back and relaxed little girl,” said her mother, Melissa Hennessey. “We are so excited to have a little sleepy hug to take home to our family. I think we all look forward to starting the New Year with a sense of peace and quiet, and so far little John has certainly shown this calming presence for us!
Melissa and her husband Chris Hennessey have chosen to name their son John after Melissa’s great-grandfather John J. McDonough. He was a former mayor of St. Paul.
John Hennessey is Melissa and Chris’ fifth child. He was born about three weeks before the due date after 35 hours of labor.
