The original Pocophone developed by Xiaomi was a surprise hit when it launched in 2018, offering almost everything you’d expect from a flagship phone for around $ 300 (although it doesn’t really work in the US). United). More phones have been released under the Poco brand since then, but there hasn’t been a direct sequel to the original F1. Rumors of a possible Poco F2 have been circulating for some time, and now Xiaomi has confirmed that it is on the way.
Poco’s Twitter account in India posted a promotional video on December 31, serving primarily as a retrospective on the brand in 2020. However, towards the end of the video (around 12:44 am), “The F2” flashes on the screen for a fraction of a second. This appears to be the first time that Xiaomi / Poco officially recognizes that a Poco F2 is in the works, although the Poco F2 Pro was released last year.
There isn’t much else in terms of confirmed information at this time, but various leaks point to the F2 with Snapdragon 732G chipset, four rear cameras, 120Hz AMOLED display, 4250mAh battery, and NFC support. The original Poco F1 was notably lacking in NFC, like many other budget phones that Xiaomi has produced in recent years.
