ROCHESTER, Minnesota (KTTC) – The Bailey family has ushered in the New Year with a new baby.
Payton Mary Bailey was born at 12:50 am Friday at the Mayo Clinic, making her Rochester’s first baby in 2021. Mum and dad, Sara and Paul Bailey, are doing well and are delighted to welcome their third child.
“We were induced yesterday [Thursday] morning, “Sara said.” But we were a little surprised that it took so long. And she ended up being a baby in 2021! We did not expect this. “
“It was a big surprise,” added Paul.
Big brother and sister were disappointed that they couldn’t join mom and dad in the hospital because of the pandemic. The Baileys say they can’t wait to meet their newest family member soon.
Payton’s parents say their little package wanted to make sure she was born in 2021 – not 2020.
“I think she held on for a reason,” Paul said. “Made us wait all day for her not to be associated with 2020.”
The Baileys say they’re thrilled to finally have her here and know she’s healthy. They can’t wait to bring her home and start as a family of five.
