HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – An unidentified flying object spotted in the evening sky over Leeward Oahu prompted witnesses to call 911 on Tuesday.
The sighting took place around 8:30 p.m.
There are several videos of what appears to be an oblong ‚glowing mass – both in the sky and in the water.
Federal Aviation Administration officials say there were no incidents or plane crashes in this area at the time. But several witnesses reported seeing a large blue object falling from the sky and into the ocean.
In one video, a woman can be heard saying, “There is something in the sky. What is that?”
Misitina Sape told Hawaii News Now that she captured the image at 8:26 p.m. near Haleakala Avenue in Nanakuli.
Soon after, a woman named Moriah spotted what looked like the same object passing over Princess Kahanu’s estates.
“I look up and then I was like oh shit !,” she said. “I started calling my husband and them because they were all in the garage. I was like hey. Come look up there. See if you see what I see. They all said yes!
The 38-year-old says she never really believed in UFOs, but the bright blue object intrigued them so much that they jumped into the car and started following it.
“I don’t know what it was,” she said. “This one was going so fast.”
The trip ended within three miles of its starting point. She says they pulled the car to a stop on Farrington Highway in front of the Board of Water Supply building after the object appeared to fall into the ocean.
In one of Moriah’s videos, you can hear him say, “(He) landed in the water. It doesn’t matter what it is. “
She described him as being bigger than a telephone pole and said she never heard him make a noise.
“We called 911,” Moriah said, “to have it as a cop or someone to come and see them.”
While officers were at the scene, Moriah said they spotted a second light.
“My husband looked up and he saw the white coming,” she said. “The white was smaller. Was coming in the same direction as the blue one.
They lost sight of the object after it passed over a nearby mountain.
On Thursday morning, we asked Honolulu Police if investigators understood what fell into the water. A spokesperson told us they had no information.
Meanwhile, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said the agency received a police report Tuesday evening about a possible plane that descended in the area “but no planes had disappeared from radar. And no late or missing aircraft reports. “
Although Moriah has had a few days to think about it, she says she is still baffled by what she saw.
“To this day, I don’t know,” she laughs. “If you can find out what it was, I like to know, you know?”
