Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen was recently reactivated from the injured reserve after suffering a torn plantar fascia in his foot. He made his first game last week, but he will sit against the San Francisco 49ers in the Seattle regular season finale.
Although he was called dubious in Friday’s injury report, coach Pete Caroll has confirmed that Olsen will not play on Sunday.
“We’re going to keep him out of this game, that’s what we’re going to do,” Carroll said after practice. “Just to make sure he’s ready next week. Just a little push from last week, but he handled it well, trained today and been through it all and all, but we just think the best thing to do is give him another week. -end.
Carroll said Olsen really only had one “tweak” and should return to training next Wednesday, leaving him nearly a week to recover before the playoff preparations begin.
