The illegal New Years parties in SoHo and Queens where hundreds of people gathered are closed

Two illegal New Years parties in SoHo and Queens that drew hundreds of people ended up getting run over by the New York Sheriff’s Office early Friday morning.

Eight people were arrested at illegal raves for various violations of health and safety codes, as well as emergency orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sheriff’s office tweeted on Jan.1.

Both parties SoHo and Maspeth have violated various city and state COVID-19 emergency orders. The ordinances prohibit gatherings of more than 10 people inside the premises and ban the service of alcohol at any location after 10 p.m. every night, among other things. Each homeowner faces fines of up to $ 15,000.

The remaining revelers at both locations were sent home.

the first bust happened at 1 a.m. when MPs attacked an illegal New Years Eve rave on the sixth floor of The Lofts in Prince, 177 Prince St. in SoHo.

More than 145 people had gathered at the scene dancing, drinking and smoking cigarettes without following masks and social distancing protocols. The sheriff’s office said the location did not have proper licenses to sell and store alcohol and that there were various health code violations, the office reported.

Four people from the SoHo rave were arrested in connection with its operation: Ivan Busheski, 34, of Manhattan; Ergius Ngjelo, 44, of Manhattan; Blerim Qyteza, 35, of Manhattan; and Elvis Goxhufi, 42, of Queens.

An hour later, Queens MPs turned off the lights of more than 300 people gathered to a New Year’s party at the Maspeth Bar / Lounge at 55-30 58th St. in Maspeth.

The place also lacked an appropriate permit to serve and store alcohol, as well as an obstructed exit and various other health code violations, the sheriff’s office said in a tweet.

MPs also saw more than 25 people enter the premises through an emergency exit that had been locked from the outside. More than 300 people inside the premises drank, sang karaoke and danced without observing the mask and social distancing requirements.

Four people at the Queens Party were arrested on various charges related to operating the illegal bottle club: Man Phan, 37, of Franklin Square, Long Island (identified as the bar owner); He Bin Wang, 37, of Franklin Square (wife of Phan); Guowei Lin, 44, of Fresh Meadows, Queens (DJ) and Fang Zou, 35, of Borough Park, Brooklyn (employee).
