Portland armed robbery leads to 5 arrests after high-speed chase: reports

Five people linked to an armed robbery at a marijuana dispensary in Portland, Ore. On Friday were taken into custody, according to reports.

The arrests follow a high-speed chase on Interstate 84 that saw the fleeing vehicle reach speeds of 160 km / h, Oregon’s FOX 12 reported.

At one point, the fleeing vehicle exited the highway and the five occupants dispersed on foot in a residential area. Two people were quickly apprehended while the other three were captured around 6 p.m. – about four hours after the vehicle’s pursuit began, FOX 12 reported.

Not all of those arrested were labeled “suspects,” police told KOIN-TV in Portland, pending the results of an investigation.

Workers at the marijuana dispensary said they were held at gunpoint during the alleged theft. It was not known what items or amount of money might have been taken. No injuries were immediately reported.

The police response involved the town’s Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), according to the FOX 12 report.

None of those arrested were immediately identified.
