In 2018, we reported that Tesla was working on a major interior design update for the S and X models, which was at the time slated for summer 2019.

While it clearly features an updated design and is not due to a third-party modification since the vehicle has manufacturer’s plates, it is not clear if this is a prototype of the vehicle. ‘a new version of the production Model S with a refreshed design or simply a new prototype of the Model S Plaid, which is not expected until late this year.
