President Trump and anyone else linked to the US strike a year ago who killed a notorious Iranian general “will not be safe on Earth,” a senior Tehran official warned on Friday, according to a report.
Speaking in Tehran on Friday, Ebrahim Raisi, the Iranian justice chief, said that even Trump was not immune from justice for his role in the Baghdad strike that killed General Qasem Soleimani, a major general of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, The Times of Israel reported.
“They will witness a serious revenge,” Raisi said at the rally at Tehran University, referring to Trump and the US military leadership. “What has happened so far have only been glimpses.”
“Don’t assume that someone, as the President of America, who appeared as a murderer or ordered a murder, could be immune from justice. Never,” Raisi reportedly continued. “Those who played a role in this assassination and this crime will not be safe on Earth.”

Sunday will mark the anniversary of the death of Soleimani, who was also the longtime leader of the elite intelligence wing known as the Quds Force – which itself has been a designated terrorist group since 2007. Believed to be one of the Iran’s most powerful men, he was regularly referred to as its “shadow commander” or “spy master.”
U.S. officials have said President Trump ordered the U.S. military strike that killed the 62-year-old general on an access road to Baghdad International Airport. The same operation is said to have killed at least seven other people.

In addition, the Iranian Foreign Ministry criticized the United States in a Twitter post on Friday.
“By committing a cowardly act of terror against General Soleimani, the United States has violated international law and the United Nations Charter in a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty,” the post said. “… Iran will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice.”
Other senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have previously spoken of retaliation for Soleimani’s death, the Times reported.
President Trump reportedly ordered the military strike last year that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.
At the same event on Friday, Iranian General Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Guards, said Iran was fully prepared to respond to US military pressure as tensions remained high between Washington and Tehran in the last days of Trump’s tenure as president.

In a recent show of force, the U.S. military flew two B-52 bombers on a mission to the Middle East earlier this week, marking the third time in 45 days that U.S. Air Force bombers have conducted missions in the Persian Gulf region.
The US bombers flew without incident without immediately apparent Iranian retaliation.
Previously, just two days before Christmas, President Trump issued a stern warning to Tehran after several rockets were fired at the US embassy in Baghdad on December 20.
“Some good advice to Iran,” wrote the president. “If an American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think about it.”
