Nicki Minaj kicks off 2021 by sharing her “Papa Bear” with the world.
On Saturday, the 38-year-old rapper and singer shared photos of her baby on her Instagram page. It was the first time that she had shared her face on her social media with her followers and fans. The series of photos was associated with a sweet note dedicated to all superhero mothers.
“#PapaBear thank you so much for choosing me to be your mom,” Minaj began in the caption, adding a pink ribbon, a unicorn and a folded hand emoji. “I wish you guys a Happy New Year. Thank you for your love and support throughout this journey. It means so much to me.”

Then rapper “Anaconda” said, “Becoming a mom is by far the most rewarding job I’ve ever taken on.
“Send love to all superhero moms,” she added. “Big hugs to all of the women who have been pregnant during this difficult time.” (Swipe right to see all photos.)
Born Onika Tanya Maraj, Minaj became the first woman to beat 100 entries in the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard, and is currently the second most successful woman, 114, on the list. Some of his most successful songs include “Starships”, “Super Bass” and the “Say So” remix with Doja Cat.
Minaj has kept her pregnancy and baby largely off her Instagram feed. Her son was born last fall and she has only shared a few glimpses of him since. Minaj shared a photo of her foot in an article, celebrating her birthday with husband Kenneth Petty.
Last July, Minaj announced her pregnancy in a series of stunning photos shared on her feed. One of the images, representing her in the image of the Virgin Mary, was taken by famous photographer David LaChapelle.
Earlier this week, in an impromptu question-and-answer session with fans on her Twitter, Minaj opened up about her pregnancy.
“He would hit me so hard every night at the same time if I didn’t get up and walk with him,” she wrote to a fan. “He had a full personality in my stomach and knew how to be successful. It was so intriguing to me. He’s doing the same now.
In another tweet, she opened up about her experience breastfeeding her son, whose name has not yet been released to the public. “He had no problem breastfeeding,” she shared. “He latched on in the hospital, which was very surprising to me. I was afraid he might not do it. But breastfeeding is very painful. Pumping is too. Women make this stuff too easy. Moms really are superheroes. “
The “Bang Bang” rapper may also have explained why she kept her pregnancy a secret. When asked about her husband’s reaction, she said, “You will have to wait for the documentary.”
