Mariah carey crowned the new year with its iconic sass. The 50-year-old diva beamed on CNN’s NYE show to chat with Andy cohen and Anderson Cooper at the dawn of 2021. Perched in its sumptuous winter setting in Aspen, Colorado, it was clearly Christmas again in Mariah’s world. She was twinkling among a sea of holiday trees and bright lighting in a silver dress. As she spoke of her gratitude for the continued success of All i want for christmas is you, a sound from across the country caught his ear.

“What’s going on in the background?” Mariah asked timidly. “I’m hearing music.” Andy quickly responded, with a twinkle in his dramatic eye, saying, “Yeah, we’ve got JLo behind us, actually.” At that, Mariah just smiled. And like that, the internet was on fire with the moment, turning it into something bigger by creating memes and creating eye-catching tweets.
