The Utah Department of Health did not release a case tally on Friday, so Saturday’s case tally was adjusted to reflect cases that would have been included in that report.
New cases
5,042 new cases were included in Saturday’s report. 3,110 of them were reportedly included in Friday’s report. 281,654 cases have now been reported in Utah.
Test
14,900 new tests have been administered since Thursday; 9,131 were reportedly included in Friday’s report. 1,740,903 people have now been tested in Utah.
The seven-day moving average of positive cases is now 2,506, or about 27.4% of those tested.
Hospitalizations
487 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19. 11,101 people have been hospitalized since March.
Death
25 new deaths have been reported; 9 of them were reportedly included in Friday’s report. A total of 1,294 deaths have been reported since the start of the pandemic.

Vaccinations
46,374 vaccines were administered. “Doses Administered” is the number of doses of vaccine that were given to people and reported to UDOH. There will be a time lag between when vaccines are shipped, administered to a person, and ultimately reported to UDOH. Once the people of Utah start receiving their second dose of the vaccine, UDOH will also show the total number of people vaccinated. The data is preliminary and the UDOH will communicate additional data as soon as it becomes available.
