President Trump on Sunday slammed the news media for giving Dr Anthony Fauci credit for the coronavirus response he deserves – saying the nation’s top infectious disease expert “works for me.”

“Gee, could this just be more fake news?” he said of Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force.
The president’s post came about an hour after Fauci appeared on ABC News “This Week” and took issue with the president’s previous tweet that the coronavirus death toll in the United States is “exaggerated.”
“The number of cases and deaths of the Chinese virus is far exaggerated in the United States due to @ CDCgov’s ludicrous method of determining against other countries, many of which are reporting, on purpose, very inaccurately and little. “If in doubt, call it Covid. Fake News! Said the president.
Fauci took issue with Trump’s claim.
“The dead are real dead. All you have to do is go out into the trenches, go to the hospitals, see what the healthcare workers are up to, ”Fauci said on ABC.
“Right now, it’s real. It’s not wrong, it’s real, ”he said.
