Armie Hammer was reunited with her children in the Cayman Islands in the midst of her divorce from Elizabeth Chambers.
The actor, 34, posted a photo to Instagram on Saturday, showing him smiling while spending family time on the beach. “Finally free!” he captioned the picture.
Hammer added that while he was with his daughter Harper Grace, 6, and son Ford Douglas Armand, 3 and a half, he would not share photos of them online. “With my children, but as a New Year’s resolution, I will not post pictures of my children for their safety and well-being,” he wrote.
A few hours earlier, the actor also posted a video that showed him being tested for the new coronavirus. “Last of these for a while !!” he wrote.
All travelers entering the Cayman Islands – where Chambers, 38, is currently staying with their children – must self-quarantine for a period of 14 days, as per government guidelines, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a New Year’s message, Chambers expressed his gratitude as he reflected on his “crazy” year.
“Happy New Year from the place and the local people who helped me last year. And from this island, which has handled COVID so incredibly well and provided safety and a semblance of normalcy for my babies and I during this time of madness, ”she wrote. “Beyond recognition every day. Forward and up, my marbles. “
The former couple had previously quarantined themselves with their families at the start of the pandemic in the Cayman Islands.
Hammer recently spent Thanksgiving in the United States while Chambers stayed abroad with their children.

The chambers filed for divorce in July, asking for primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their two children. A source previously told PEOPLE: “These are crazy times with COVID-19, schools in Los Angeles being closed and Elizabeth just wants the kids to have a normal experience.
In October, Hammer applied for joint custody of his children and demanded that Chambers return to the United States to arrange a custody schedule.
In legal documents obtained by The Blast, lawyers for Hammer said the former couple “opted to stay temporarily with their children in the Cayman Islands where the pandemic appeared to be in better control.” However, when the actor returned to Los Angeles in July, “Elizabeth and the children are staying in the Cayman Islands and Armie has not seen the children for several months now.”
But a source later told PEOPLE: “After filing the injunction, Armie stepped back so the kids could still go to school in person in Grand Caymans and not be in front of the screens. US”

In September, the actor told British GQ called his separation from Chambers, whom he married in 2010, a “serious seismic event”.
“I don’t think you’ll find anyone in the world who will say what I’m going through is an easy going thing,” he told the outlet, adding that when he and Chambers discussed their separation, they continued to focus on what was best for their children.
“Elizabeth and I are two adults making this decision and the priority is how to do it in a way that least affects our children? Or, at least, how can we help them get through this in a way that mitigates as much consternation or fear or damage on their part, ”he said at the time.
