Miya Ponsetto, the SoHo Karen who falsely accused a black teenager of stealing her iPhone and then attacking him, lashed out at the cops when she was arrested last year for DUI.
NYPD Detectives
As we reported, Mia and her mother, Nicole, were charged with another felony last year which involved being drunk in public – more on that in a minute. But, THE DAY AFTER Miya was charged, the cops spotted her in Malibu driving erratically and arrested her.
Police sources told TMZ … Miya was in an altered state, saying she had taken a Xanax and drank wine. The cops asked him to get out of his Range Rover, and that’s where the madness started.
When she got out, the cops said they wanted to take a field field sobriety test, which she flatly refused and the cops say she was downright belligerent. Our sources say the cops tried to slap her in the face, but she resisted and then took her to the ground.
At this point, the cops say Miya had a temper tantrum, hit the ground, hit her body and even hit her head on the sidewalk.
As we reported, she was taken to jail and reserved for DUI. She did not plead any challenges and received 3 years probation, 30 hours of community service, and is required to complete a 9 month alcohol and drug counseling program.

As you know, Miya was in a posh New York hotel last month when she realized she didn’t have her iPhone and immediately focused on the Grammy-winning musician’s 14-year-old son, Keyon Harold, who was holding an iPhone, accuse the child to steal his phone. She attacked Keyon Jr. and the cops in New York now want to talk to him.
Turns out she seems to have issues with hotels, as at the start of last year she and her mother were at the Peninsula Hotel in Bev Hills where employees unsuccessfully asked them to leave after having appeared intoxicated. The cops came, Miya’s mother Nicole allegedly pushed and kicked a police officer. The mother was arrested for assaulting an officer and being drunk in public. Miya was also arrested for being drunk in public. They have pleaded not guilty and have a hearing next month.

Miya since he left NYC and returned home to LA … where she doesn’t seem very remorseful about it all.
