A new word from Microsoft shows that Windows 10 is on the verge of a facelift. Yes, following macOS Big Sur, which got a new look very close to iOS, it looks like Microsoft is on the verge of giving Windows 10 a new lease of life, in the 2021 H2 Sun Valley update.
News of the Sun Valley overhaul first leaked back in October, but it was rumored that sources spoke anonymously. Now we have heard it from Microsoft itself. Windows Latest has spotted a job posting for a Windows team position that openly brags about upcoming changes to Windows 10.
According to Windows Latest, the publication of a senior software engineer originally said the following – which has since been deleted from the post: “On this team, you will work with our partners to orchestrate and deliver a radical visual rejuvenation of Windows experiences to signal our customers that Windows is BACK and make sure Windows is considered the best operating system user experience for customers. “
Note that all in all caps “BACK” which signals that Microsoft is ready to run a serious advertising campaign on what could be the rebirth of the operating system. Recent updates to Windows 10 haven’t really made a lot of changes for consumers, and we’ve seen more information about the control panel changes than anything else.
As for what major elements of Windows 10 will change? The original leak suggested that we would see a new Start menu, file explorer, action center, and even some of the tweaks coming in Windows 10X.
Since this text has been removed from this job description, there is reason to wonder if they have ever fulfilled the role of Manager of Windows 10 Sun Valley Interface Updates and are headed for an issue. equally important quality assurance.
Better Windows 10?
But looking at the current version of this posting, we can’t help but read between the lines with a bit of the job description. It reads: “In this team, you will orchestrate and deliver experiences that ensure that Windows is a great user experience for our customers”, and that “you will have the opportunity to create enjoyable and refined experiences for Windows”.
It subtly touches on something we brought up in our annual list of biggest tech failures: Microsoft needs to fix Windows 10 buggy issues. The operating system apparently gets more attention these days for its mistakes than it does. something else.
That job description, however, is what the company should always strive for, but we hope Microsoft is as tired of hearing reports of buggy Windows 10 updates as users are.
