At the end of the NFL season, we bring another mock 2021 NFL draft

We’re getting closer to a solidified draft order as the NFL regular season draws to a close; the college football season is only a week away. The outlook is emerging and the needs of the team become clear as another mock 2021 NFL Draft is about to begin.

The college football playoffs brought the quarterback battle to light, as the Ohio State quarterback heard all the negative comments and stepped out to shred Clemson’s high school. This battle for QB2 behind the obvious choice is far from over, but Fields has shown he is the preseason QB2 for a reason, and has all the talent of any gunslinger in the class. .

Where did he end up in this bogus project? How does the board fall in three sets of fun.

* Order project determined by current ranking via Tankathon

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

No doubt here at the top of the table. Even harassed by the Ohio State defense all night in the semifinals, Lawrence managed to make some big shots at crucial levels of the pitch. A game won’t define his position as a prospect either, as he’s still the most talented passer to enter the draft since Andrew Luck left Stanford in 2012 (and potentially before).

As the Jaguars lock in to the No. 1 pick in the draft after a one-season win in 2020, Lawrence is the clear and easy target at the top of the draft. As the Jaguars search for their franchise quarterback and the face of the franchise, they don’t have to look any further than the guy who has been the coveted prize since entering school in 2018.

2. New York Jets: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

There was never any doubt in this writer’s mind that Fields is the second-best quarterback in this class. The rise of BYU quarterback Zach Wilson has made it difficult in the public eye, but Fields has tools to make teams drool. From his mobility, to the net throw movement, to the zipper he can put behind his throws, Fields has the makings of a superstar to the next level.

After losing to Lawrence with back-to-back wins at the end of the season, the New York Jets take Fields with the second overall pick in the draft here. Following the sacking of head coach Adam Gase, they will also be looking for a new face under center. By pairing Fields with an innovative new head coach, the future looks less grim for the green gang.
