Shia LaBeouf deleted from Netflix’s Pieces of a Woman promotional material after FKA abuse allegations

Shia LaBeouf has been stripped of promotional material for Netflix’s new film Pieces of a Woman after his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit last month, accusing her of ‘relentless violence’.

The 34-year-old actor under fire is playing a leading role in the film, which is due to launch on the streaming platform on January 7 and was announced for the success of the awards.

Vanessa Kirby, who co-starred with LaBeouf in the film, has already garnered applause, having received the award for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival, and is now expected to get an Oscar nomination, alongside Ellen Burstyn , who plays his mother.

But LaBeouf, who was previously favored to land an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor, was recently removed from the streaming giant’s film summary on its website.

And now the star’s name and face appear to have been erased entirely from Netflix’s latest ads promoting the film, Page Six reported.

An ad posted to Twitter by the Netflix Film account on December 22, but recently promoted, read: “ Vanessa Kirby and Ellen Burstyn star in Pieces of a Woman, a story about love and the loss of a mother . On Netflix January 7.

While omitting LaBeouf’s name from the caption, the trailer does not feature any images of him and makes no mention of his role in the film.

The still frame of the trailer shows a close-up of Kirby’s face, with white bathroom tiles in the background with no one else visible in the photo.

However, stills from the film show that the photo actually shows Kirby looking at LaBeouf, stroking his face, although it appears to have been cropped in the new image.

Last month, LaBeouf also had his name removed from the Netflix “ For Your Rewards ” page promoting the film.

Kirby was featured for the best actress consideration, but LaBeouf’s name was left out.

The description reads: “ Martha (Vanessa Kirby) and Sean are a Boston couple on the brink of parenthood whose lives irrevocably change when a home birth ends in unimaginable tragedy. ”

LaBeouf’s name was obviously not included in parentheses next to that of his character Sean.

Netflix has yet to return a request for comment to DailyMail.com on the matter.

LaBeouf’s apparent omission from any promotional material for the film follows shortly after artist FKA Twigs – real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett – filed a lawsuit against him in December, accusing him of sexual violence , aggression and infliction of emotional distress.

In her lawsuit, Twigs alleges that LaBeouf knowingly gave her an STD and abused her – both emotionally and physically – during their relationship.

The two dated for less than a year before ending it in May 2019, with sources claiming at the time that the separation was due to his work schedule.

In an incident detailed in the lawsuit, LaBeouf allegedly sped up to Los Angeles in February 2019 as they returned from a trip to the desert.

He took off his seat belt and threatened to crash the car unless she told him she loved him, according to the lawsuit.

LaBeouf pulled into a gas station after Twigs begged him to stop and let her out. When she took her bags out of the trunk, LaBeouf allegedly threw her against the car, yelled in her face and then forced her back into the vehicle.

Just before the gas station incident, Twigs alleges she woke up in the middle of the night to find the Transformers actor suffocating her.

In response to his ex’s allegations, LaBeouf released a statement to the New York Times that “ a lot of these allegations are not true, ” while admitting that “ I am not in a position to tell anyone that or what my behavior made them feel. ”

“I have no excuse for my alcoholism or my aggressiveness, only rationalizations,” he said. “I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a habit of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of this story and sorry for those I hurt. I really can’t say anything else.

Following the news of the trial, a number of other former partners of LaBeouf stepped forward to accuse him of various forms of abuse.

Singer Sia accused the actor of “ cheating ” her into an adulterous relationship with him, calling him a “ pathological liar ”. LaBeouf had previously appeared in his music video for the song Elastic Heart in 2015.

Songwriter Katy Rose also alleged that he ‘groped’ her violently ” at a party in the Hollywood Hills and that stylist Karolyn Pho joined the Twigs trial.

Pho, a stylist, alleged in the suit that LaBeouf “ pinned her drunk on a bed and head butted her, enough to make her bleed. ”

Questions have also arisen around her sudden departure from Olivia Wilde’s upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling.

LaBeouf had been cast for a role but left the project before filming began and was replaced by Harry Styles.

Kirby spoke out on behalf of all abuse survivors in an interview with Britain’s Sunday Times this weekend, ahead of the film’s release.

“I support all survivors of abuse and I respect the courage of anyone who speaks the truth,” she said in a statement. “Regarding recent news, I cannot comment on an ongoing court case.”
