Alice Glass has released a new song “Suffer and Swallow”, the first single from her upcoming album, which will be released later this year.

The glitchy track deals with themes of reclaiming power over someone or something that seemed to be in control. “Suffer and Swallow (Suffer and Swallow) / You know there is no tomorrow (you know there is no tomorrow) / I did this for you,” ethereal sings Ethereal Glass on the chorus with a harsh contrasting supporting voice echoing his lyrics. “Suffer and swallow (suffer and swallow) / I know what you are / I know what you are.”

In the stop-motion animated clip, directed by Lucas David, nightmarish scenes unfold as Glass appears as a Red Riding Hood-style doll figure that is attacked by worms, bugs, and other consuming entities while let her fix what is necessary to survive.

Alice Glass previously released the single “Nightmares” via experimental New York label Sermon 3 Recordings in 2020, as well as a remix of “Rajadão” by Pabllo Vittar. “Nightmares” appeared on the label’s compilation 4th anniversary sermon. In 2017, Glass released their eponymous debut solo EP, which featured the singles “Forgiveness” and “Without Love”.
