Colin Cowherd and Rich Eisen react to Joe Judge’s reaction to the Eagles

On Monday night, New York Giants head coach Joe Judge echoed the sentiments of his locker room and the football world at large when he targeted Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Less than 24 hours after Pederson retired quarterback Jalen Hurts and deliberately tanked on national television, the judge seized the opportunity with an all-time rant.

“It is our responsibility to take care of our opportunities, to perform better and to execute situations when they are on our plate. We never want to leave our destiny in the hands of anyone else, ”Judge said. “We are not going to find excuses as an organization. Neither now nor ever. We had our opportunities. We need to learn from the lessons we have learned from this year and continue with them.

“That being said, obviously the players asked me the question throughout the day. The only thing to keep in mind with this season is that a lot of people have gone for this season. We had a lot of people who accepted. Coaches, players, including family members. Watch a group of adult men who I ask to give me daily effort and empty the tank. I can look them in the eye and assure them that I will always do whatever I can to put them in a competitive advantage and have them play in a position of strength. For me, you never want to disrespect these players and their efforts and disrespect the game.

“The sacrifices they made to come to work every day and test them before entering. Attend spaced meetings, wear masks, have shields on those masks, go through extended protocols, travel unconventionally and get 6:30 a.m. text messages telling them the practice was going to be canceled, we have to do a virtual day . To tell them not to invite your family over for Thanksgiving, avoid Christmas gatherings, we know it’s your wife’s birthday, let’s make sure to postpone this one to the offseason.

“There are a number of sacrifices that have been made by all the players and coaches in this league. There are also a number of sacrifices for the family members of those related to them. Disrespecting everyone’s effort to make this season a success for the National Football League, disrespecting the game by going out there and not competing for 60 minutes and doing whatever you want. can to help these players win. We’re never going to do that while I’m the head coach of the New York Giants.

Most players in the football world applauded Judge for his comments. Only those in the Philadelphia media and a handful of outliers disputed this. Even Philadelphia running back Miles Sanders basically agreed with this, while other reports have revealed the Eagles players are due to be held on the sideline on Sunday night.

It was a humiliating moment for the Eagles and a moment that gave Judge the opportunity to pour some extra gasoline on the fire. But perhaps there were other reasons for Judge’s position – at least that’s what Colin Cowherd suspects.

Rich Eisen shared a very similar take on Judge’s comments, but with a slight and interesting twist.

If what Cowherd and Eisen suspect is true – and it’s entirely possible given how deliberate and calculated the judge is – then the Giants head coach is playing 4D chess while everyone else is still trying to understand how to play checkers.

And if we’re being honest with ourselves, the fact that Judge’s comments have the Philadelphia ones twisted into so many knots is really just the icing on the cake.
