Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean page

[ad_1]

In case you missed it, Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton is all anyone can talk about, and if you have good kidneys then the name Régé-Jean Page should sound familiar to you.

I’m not the only one thirsty for the very fictional Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings …

Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, king of the strong withdrawal game, protector of all WAPs, back breaker and defender of self-pleasure … long he reigns! #Bridgerton

… but I am also here to say that I have been thirsty for Regé for a few years, since he appeared in the ephemeral of Shonda For the people:

ABC

Phew chile … having that face adorning my office door is what I think about when I’m alone.

BUT, I am ahead myself! Let’s start from the start of Regé’s journey:

Regé was born in Zimbabwe and moved to London for school – so that delicious accent you’ve heard Bridgerton was natural, baby:

Acting was not Regé’s first passion! He was initially interested in studying sound engineering, but then fell into it a bit thanks to his time at the National Youth Theater:

Regé graduated from Drama Center London in 2013, and if the name sounds familiar to you, it’s because their list of esteemed alumni includes (but not limited to): Pierce Brosnan, Gemma Chan, Luke Evans, Emilia Clarke, Gwendoline Christie, and Colin Firth!

Earlier in his career, Regé had a brief – i.e. uncredited – stint at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part I and appeared in two episodes of Fresh meat:

HOWEVER, her big break was in the History Channel remake of the iconic 1977 miniseries. Roots, where he played Chicken George:

This brings us to the moment when Regé and I crossed paths for the first time, in Shonda Rhimes’ party-too-early. For the people, where he played Leonard Knox, the prosecutor you hated to love:

And now we are in 2021, a few weeks after not one, but TWO projects of Regé have blessed our screens. There was Sylvie’s love, where he played Chico, the onscreen love interest of Aja Naomi King (another Shonda alumnus !!).

And then, of course, there is his role in Bridgerton, which I can spend days talking about.

Which brings us up to date! I can’t wait to see what Regé plays next – apart Bridgerton Season 2, of course.
