A motorcyclist and a cyclist were killed Sunday when they collided near an RV station and a campground in the Otay Ranch area, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision occurred around 9:30 am near the Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground at 14615 Otay Lakes Rd. Both riders were quickly pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims are believed to be men in their mid to late 30s, CHP Sgt. Said Steven Toth.
The cyclist was part of a large group. He was the last rider in line with a group riding eastbound on Otay Lakes Road. The motorcyclist was one of four friends who had met earlier today, Toth said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
