In his 18th season at age 36, LeBron James continues to make basketball ridiculously easy because he does what he wants, when he wants, on the NBA courts. On Tuesday night, the Lakers put in a quick and early job for the Houston Rockets, taking a 21-point lead after the first quarter.

That lead climbed to 24 with just under eight minutes left in the second quarter when LeBron decided to channel his inside Stephen Curry with a no-nonsense 3-pointer of the most emphatic variety.

To look closer.

And frame by frame.

We’ve seen Curry and other players do this from time to time but, generally, it involves turning around and coming back on defense as a sort of preemptive celebration. Additionally, you will normally see a player glance at the basket just to make sure the ball actually enters. LeBron never moved. He let the reaction of his teammates provide the confirmation.

After the match, LeBron revealed that the genesis of the shot was actually a bet made from a teammate, Dennis Schroder, who allegedly shouted “Bet a Benjamin on” as LeBron was about to shoot. This man took the bet almost in the middle of the shot, then turned to formalize the hundred dollar bet, looking Schroder in the eye before the creepy ball even entered.

LeBron James is on the next level.
