Treyarch presented the first season of Black Ops Cold War a few weeks ago. It was the best thing that has happened to the game since its launch, so players want more of it. Turns out they won’t have to wonder what’s to come with the next big update, all thanks to YouTuber TheGamingRevolution.
The YouTuber recently revealed all of the new content coming to Black Ops Cold War in season two. His efforts also included an approximate release date for next season. Logically, Treyarch would publish a new season as soon as the current one ends.
In Call of Duty games, the seasons usually accompany the battle pass. With the current one ending in the next 44 days, that puts the approximate release date of Season 2 around February 24. With the release date behind us, it’s time to watch all the new content coming to gamers.
New Maps, Zombies DLC and More Weapons in Black Ops Cold War Season 2
Starting with new maps, in previous leaks, Treyarch included some map files in the game and didn’t release them during Season 1. Therefore, there’s a good chance these will come to the game with the next season. Of the maps that were part of the leaks, two are multiplayer maps similar to other Call of Duty games.
The first map is similar to the Jungle map from Black Ops I. It takes place in the Vietnam War, possibly in Laos. The map is also featured in a photo of the Pines multiplayer map, which further strengthens its existence in the game. The second map is most likely a version of the Highrise Call of Duty map. Both of these maps will feature 6v6 gameplay.
In addition to the 6v6 maps, there will also be a new Fireteam map based on a desert theme called Dunes. This comes after a major addition from Fireteam in the mid-season update. Treyarch has a lot going for Fireteam Mode, and it looks like this mode will be the highlight of Black Ops Cold War alongside Zombies and the Campaign.
Finally, the first Zombies DLC also arrives with the next season. It will feature the Vietnam map as the first of four DLC maps previously teased as part of a Zombies Easter Egg.
According to previous reports, Season 2 will also introduce the Dragunov sniper rifle into the game. Other than that there could be a new LMG, the Galil AR, the Skorpion SMG, and the CZ-75 pistol. On top of that, Zombies mode could also get the Phallot Tactical Rifle not available in MP mode.
It looks like the season update will be massive. Therefore, Black Ops Cold War fans have a lot to look forward to for the next 70 days. To sweeten the deal, it’s possible the season will arrive earlier since something similar happened with the first season of Modern Warfare.
