Representative Mikie Sherrill, DN.J., said on Tuesday she saw lawmakers lead people across the Capitol the day before the riot in what looked like a “reconnaissance” tour, and said the members would be held accountable.

The congressman did not name any of the lawmakers, or provide further details on what qualified their actions as “recognition.” It is not known how she determined that the “recognition” was linked to the riots the next day, according to Politico.
His office did not immediately respond to an after-hours Fox News email.
Sherrill also explained why she voted for a resolution urging Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.
The measure passed Tuesday night (223-205) and was seen as symbolic as Pence has already said he would not act. The House is expected to vote to remove the president on Wednesday.
Sherrill also detailed her account of what happened on January 6, when pro-Trump protesters stormed the Capitol, which put Congress on hiatus and the Capitol building locked down – as members were trying to certify the results of the presidential election in favor of the president – elect Joe Biden.

On Tuesday, the FBI and the Department of Justice said more than 170 people had been charged in connection with the riot on Capitol Hill.
According to the newspaper, federal investigators said some undisclosed evidence about what happened inside the building would be “shocking.”
