After Twitter, Facebook and Instagram suspended the president from their respective platforms following the Capitol Hill riots, the actor is now hoping that YouTube will line up and ban Trump’s account like others have done. .

Speaking to Twitter, the 49-year-old actor urged Alphabet officials, namely YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, to suspend Trump’s account from their sharing platform. videos and doing “the right thing” for American democracy.

In another tweet, the “Borat” star called YouTube the new “Trump TV” and criticized companies running ads on videos that allegedly incited rioters to storm the Capitol.

Aside from Cohen, actress Amy Schumer has also slammed tech giants for taking no action on Trump’s behalf and noted that these companies give the president a platform to spread “lies and plots.”

Other notable figures like Chelsea Handler, Judd Apatow, Monica Lewinsky and Lawrence O’Donnell also shared the same sentiment and made their voices heard.

“We all need to lobby and retweet @YouTube, @SusanWojcicki to stop the spread of disinformation,” Handler wrote, quoting Cohen’s tweet.

In an interview with Variety, Cohen revealed that he saw many threats to democracy under the Trump administration and believed it was the perfect time to resurrect the character.

“I felt that democracy was in danger. I felt people’s lives were in danger and I felt compelled to finish the movie, ”Cohen said, quoted by Variety.
