UPDATE 2: Additional patch notes for Fortnite update 15.20 have been revealed by Epic Games.
Available for download now, Update 15.20 introduces the Lever Action Shotgun, available as regular loot. This is in addition to the all-new Hop Rock Dualies Exotic, a dual-purpose pistol that allows players to slaughter enemies while bouncing around the map.
But perhaps most exciting of all is that Predator will join the game as this season’s Secret Skin. Dataminers such as Lucas7Yoshi have already discovered the Predator spray, while his crashed ship is in Stealthy Stronghold.
Players will also be happy to hear that Epic Games has reverted to the changes to the pre-changes in Update 15.20.
“With ‘Disable Pre-Edits’ ON, all player-built structures will be unheard of until they’re actually placed in the environment, ensuring you get the right piece every time,” explains Epic.
You can see the 15.20 patch notes further down the page. In the meantime, downtime has started and will last until at least 10 a.m. GMT.
UPDATE: Fortnite developer Epic Games has taken the game offline in preparation for Update 15.20.
Fans can continue playing if they are already in a game, before the game goes completely offline at 9am GMT.
“We are starting to turn off services in preparation for v15.20,” one Epic tweet read. “If you are currently in a session, you may continue to play until the downtime begins at approximately 4:00 am ET (9:00 am UTC).”
ORIGINAL: Fortnite update 15.20 is finally about to be released by Epic Games.
After weeks without any updates, Epic is back with a brand new patch for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android.
Fortnite update 15.20 has a release date of January 13 and a launch time of 9am GMT for fans living in the UK.
As a numbered update, it will also be launched alongside a server downtime period, which runs from around 9am to 11am.

The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter: “Fight up close and personal in our new update.
“Version 15.20 is scheduled for January 13. The update interruption will begin at approximately 4 a.m. ET (9 a.m. UTC).”
The wording of the tweet suggests there will be a new close-range weapon. Leaked files suggest an all-new Run Gun, which allows players to run faster when equipped. It would certainly allow you to get closer to your opponent.
The new update is also likely to contain a brand new Hunter skin. Rumors suggest that Predator will be joining the game, which definitely ties into the theme of the current season.
According to the first patch notes, update 15.20 will also bring various bug fixes and gameplay changes, which you can read below.

• The lever hunting rifle

– Watch below! Take down your opponents with the new exotic class weapon, the Hop Rock Dualies. Lay down a few bars and collect them to shred the enemy in a dual-purpose bouncy style.
– Speaking of exotics, their discounted offer has been extended. Visit key island characters and exchange your bars for these unique weapons, or try to collect them in a single match!
• Something is stirring in the jungle
– The forest is moving … there is something there! The Secret Battle Pass Outfit draws closer, leaving behind clues in the stealth fortress about who they are and what they might be planning.
– Meanwhile, Agent Jones brings in some big guns with the next pair of fighters to join in the chaos.
• Pre-editing options: Redux
– We heard your feedback in response to our pre-edits in 15.10 and made some adjustments to the setting. With “Disable Pre-Edits” ON, all player-built structures will not be editable until they are actually placed in the environment, ensuring you get the correct part every time.
