The 38-year-old actress, born Anne Jacqueline Hathaway, wants everyone to call her ‘Annie’ to move forward, as she told Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show.
“Call me Annie, everyone. Everyone, call me Annie, please! She pleaded during her virtual appearance.

“Can we talk about my name for a sec?” She asked Fallon after introducing her as Anne, before inquiring about her name.
Referring to her first commercial at age 14 where she was asked what name she wanted on her Screen Actors Guild card, she chose to go with her birth name, not realizing that it did. would follow for the rest of his life.
“ The only person who calls me Anne is my mom and she only does that when she’s really mad at me, like really mad, ” she said.
“ So every time I go out in public and someone calls me I think they’re going to yell at me, ” she confessed.

Upon obtaining the memo, Fallon named the Princess Diaries actress as Annie, for the remainder of the virtual interview.

Hathaway and Fallon have continued to talk about her home life as she is the mother of four-year-old Jonathan and one-year-old Jack with her nine-year-old husband, Adam Shulman.
