At the London 2012 Summer Olympics, Douglas won gold in the individual and team all-around and she repeated in the latter at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janerio. This course represents three of the four Olympic gold medals won by the contenders for season 1 on “The Masked Dancer”.

In the first clue video for Cotton Candy, we saw a box of cereal (Gabby appeared on the front of a box of Kellogg after her victories in 2012), an English breakfast (which could refer to the scene of her triumph) and a cupcake decorated with false eyelashes and lipstick (Gabby has a cosmetics line with a company called Beauty Bakerie).
Cotton Candy revealed that she had to leave the house to pursue her dream; Gabby did just that as a teenager, moving across the country to live with her gymnastics trainer and family.
During her first appearance on the show’s official Instagram account, the celebrity dressed as Cotton Candy revealed that “One year I took a Christmas vacation on the ocean for vacation.” Gabby recounted her family trip on a cruise liner to celebrate Christmas 2012.
