Kevin Feige says Marvel’s Netflix heroes are ‘on set’

This Friday, Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally begins with the launch of WandaVision on Disney +. Naturally, most Marvel fans are excited to see some of the MCU’s biggest names on the small screen. But neither have they forgotten the heroes who have already featured on their own shows on rival streaming services. Marvel’s impending foray into television has Kevin Feige answering many questions about the fate of Netflix’s street characters. At the moment, there don’t appear to be any concrete plans to bring these heroes into the bigger MCU. However, Feige still doesn’t rule out their return.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Feige raised the possibility of Daredevil, Jessica jones, Luke Cage, Iron fist, and The punisher appearing in future Marvel projects. Obviously, the studio’s current goal is to have new characters in their own Disney + series. But according to Feige, the option is still on the table.

“It’s all on set,” Feige says. “It’s one of the fun things about comics is that characters come and go and come and go. All of this is an inspiration for the future. There are great characters and actors in these series.

Netflix canceled Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron fist end of 2018, then deleted Jessica jones and The punisher the next year. Many fans immediately hoped that Marvel was planning covers for Disney + or Hulu. But under the terms of their original deal with Netflix, these characters couldn’t appear in any new MCU movies or TV shows for two years after their respective cancellations. Technically, that means all of these characters will be available from next month, because Jessica jones and The punisher were both canned in February 2019. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be happening just yet.
