Now that Alabama’s season is over, draft-eligible players from Crimson Tide will soon announce if they turn pro or – in some situations – return to the tide for another season.
Here are notes on some of these draft-eligible types based on information the sources shared with AL.com:
– Four sub-classes are expected to ultimately choose to leave for the NFL: cornerback Patrick Surtain, quarterback Mac Jones, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and defensive lineman Christian Barmore. It’s possible that all four will be first-round picks.
–Redshirt junior outside linebacker Christopher Allen, a second-team All-SEC selection who led the conference with 13 tackles for a loss, is expected to return to school instead of turning pro. NFL scouts had been seen as a potential pick in the NFL Draft on Day 2.
– The belief is that junior cornerback Josh Jobe, another potential Day 2 pick, will likely stay in Alabama instead of leaving for the NFL.
–Brian Robinson, who has rushed for 483 yards as Najee Harris’ back-up running back this season, is expected to be among the Crimson Tide seniors returning to school for another season instead of moving to the NFL.
