In exchange for Harden, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Houston was buying Caris LeVert and Rodions Kurucs from the Nets, Dante Exum from the Cleveland Cavaliers, three Nets first-round picks, a Cavaliers first-round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks, and four Nets first-round picks.
Brooklyn is also sending center Jarrett Allen and forward Taurean Prince to the Cavaliers as part of the trade, according to ESPN’s Wojnarowski.
In a separate deal, Houston trades LeVert and a second-round pick at the Indiana Pacers for goalie and two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo, according to Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Eight-time All-Star Harden was acquired by the Oklahoma City Thunder Rockets in 2012.
In Houston, he was voted the league’s best player for the 2017-18 season and led the Rockets to the playoffs every eight years.
The trade comes a day after Harden criticized the team.
“I love this city. I literally did everything I could. I mean, this situation, it’s crazy. It’s something that I don’t think can be fixed.”
The post-match comments were the latest in a string of negative behavior from the disgruntled star, after arriving late for the team’s training camp, then being sidelined for four days and sentenced to a $ 50,000 fine by the NBA for violating league health and safety protocols days before the start of the season.
The former MVP is now reuniting with former Thunder teammate Kevin Durant and eternal All-Star guard Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn.
CNN Sport has contacted the NBA to confirm the details of the trade.
New reports
Meanwhile, the NBA said on Wednesday it was postponing its ninth game of the season.
Two games scheduled for Friday between the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriros and the Washington Wizards and Detriot Pistons have been postponed as ongoing contact tracing means the Suns and Wizards lack the eight players required to play the games.
Since January 6, 16 NBA players have tested positive for Covid-19.
The league announced on Tuesday that it had adopted stricter health and safety protocols to combat the spread of the virus.
