(CNN)President-elect Joseph Biden will announce the appointment of David Cohen as deputy director of the CIA on Friday, according to a transition official.
Cohen was Deputy Director of the CIA from 2015 to 2017 in the Obama administration.
Earlier this week, Biden asked veteran U.S. diplomat William Burns to be the agency’s director.
