Bungie’s weekly update shared recently shared news, not just from Destiny 2 but also from the Halo franchise on which the studio worked previously. The developer announced on his “This Week at Bungie” news show that the original Halo website – the same one that hosts player files and stats from previous Halo games – will be shutting down soon. This means that those files and other assets related to players’ old Halo rewards will be removed, but players have the option to save whatever they want to the site before that happens.
The latest on events within Bungie was shared on Thursday where Halo was discussed in the middle Destiny 2 talks. In the “Dust and Echoes” section of the Weekly Update, Bungie rediscovered its history with Halo and the purpose of the old Halo site.
“Almost nine years ago, stats and files for our previous franchise, Halo, stopped being updated on Bungie.net,” Bungie said. “Since then, all statistics, files and other data of Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo: scope have lived in remembrance on halo.bungie.net. “
With Bungie out of the Halo game for quite some time now, it’s time for the site to go, the studio said. The shutdown of the original Halo site will take place on February 9, giving players time to access it and keep whatever they want from the site, whether it’s stats, screenshots. favorite screen or something else they want to hold onto.
“On February 9, the halo.bungie.net website will be taken offline permanently,” Bungie said. “Everyone is welcome to record their stats and files, as they can, if they want to record anything. Keep in mind that our news articles, forums and groups were imported into the current version of Bungie.net in 2013. ”
With Halo being worked on by 343 Industries, the next project to be released should be Infinite Halo, the game many expected to be a part of the Xbox Series X launch. We recently received a few updates on the game, which left rumors and speculation in and filling the voids with gamers theorizing about the game’s release date and other matters. The new game is slated for release in fall 2021 but does not have an exact release date yet.
