Notre Dame in great shape for the engagement of the elite DE Tyson Ford

As we continue to see every year in college football playoffs, recruiting is king and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish need to do a better job on the track. It’s not that they’re doing a bad job, but to compete with the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes (both of which feature on future Notre Dame schedules), the Irish just need more.

A piece of that ‘more’ could come on Monday when 2022 4-star defensive end Tyson Ford announces his entry. As of Thursday of last week, many analysts believed Ford was heading to Norman to play for the Oklahoma Sooners. On Friday, it turned out that recruiting experts began to predict the Irish would be Ford’s choice on Monday.

On Rivals, it was Sooner Scoop’s Josh McCuistion and Blue and Gold’s Mike Singer who put their Future Cast picks for the Irish with Ford. The 247 was Oklahoma Insider Brandon Drumm and Tom Loy from Irish Illustrated with their Crystal Ball picks for Notre Dame (along with Steve Wiltfong).

I don’t have the exact time on Monday, and since it is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and there is no school, it could come anytime from the prospect of St. Louis. .

Something I want to highlight here is that although Ford is a 4 star on Rivals and 247, it is rated as WDE on 247 and SDE on Rivals. In addition, Rivals ranks it 64th overall nationally, while 247 places it at 181 nationally.

Notre Dame’s recruiting class 2022 is off to a great start. The Irish currently have 4 entries and are ranked No. 10 by the 247 Composite Team Rankings. An addition from Tyson Ford would take them to No.5 – but again – it’s very early.
