The fight between Phil Hawes and Nassourdine Imavov is canceled

Phil Hawes’ second outing in the UFC has been put on hold after his middleweight bout against Nassourdine Imavov was scratched from Saturday’s UFC on the ABC 1 card.

MMA Junkie confirmed the news following an initial report from RT Sport. The first UFC fight card of 2021 goes from 13 to 12 fights. No reason was given for the cancellation of the fight.

Dana White’s Contender Series graduate, Hawes (9-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) kicked off his UFC career in spectacular fashion with an 18-second knockout against Jacob Malkoun to earn a “Performance de the night ”at UFC 254 last October.

He was set to face Russia-born, France-based Imavov (9-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who also made a winning start to his UFC career last year with a unanimous decision victory. vs. Jordan Williams at UFC on ESPN 16, also in October.

The duo were ready to show off their skills in the first place for the preliminary cards in Abu Dhabi. But undisclosed circumstances have now forced the fight off the map.
