The original Wonder Woman TV series Lynda Carter takes over from Gal Gadot as DCEU’s Diana Prince in a truly awesome new deepfake video.

Lynda Carter replaces Gal Gadot as DCEU Wonder woman in a stunning new deepfake video. Long before Gadot played DC superhero Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman on the big screen, Carter gave the character the small screen treatment in a television series that spanned four seasons and 59 episodes in the 1970s.

Although the original Wonder woman the show now looks cheesy in many ways, with Carter’s performance as Wonder woman is still considered iconic by many fans. This is why so many people were thrilled to see Carter finally arrive in the DCEU in Wonder Woman 1984, playing the character Asteria in a brief mid-credits scene. Of course, Carter has appeared in another modern DC TV adaptation before, playing President Olivia Marsdin on Super girl.

Considering the special place Carter still holds in the hearts of many Wonder woman fans, it’s a shame she never got the chance to play her most famous character on the big screen. But now, thanks to deepfake technology, Carter has had the opportunity to join the DCEU as a Wonder woman, replacing Gadot in an exciting new clip from DeepFaker. See the video in the space below:

Use images from the first Wonder woman movie, DeepFaker uses deepfake technology to seamlessly replace Gadot’s face with Carter’s. The clip doesn’t bother to address the dialogue scenes, but instead uses the music to convey the excitement of Carter’s “performance” as Wonder Woman in scenes from the Patty Jenkins film. As it happens, Carter arriving in the DCEU is returning the favor of a previous deepfake video, also from DeepFaker, which set Gadot in the 1970s. Wonder woman TV show.

The fact that Carter and Gadot can so easily swap places between the new movies and the original TV show proves just how steadfast the Wonder Woman character has become in terms of looks and feel. Of course, the new movies are a lot more visually impressive than the series, which was made on a modest 1970s network TV budget and couldn’t do much in terms of effects. But in spirit, the movies and the series are actually not that different, and indeed Wonder Woman 1984 in many ways returned to the tone of the TV show, at least for some of its lighter scenes (other scenes of course took things in a heavier direction). The above deepfake seems to prove that now is the time for Carter to play Wonder woman in a big-budget adaptation of the comics, she would have had no problem bringing the character to life on the big screen for DC fans.
