Shocking images released on Sunday offer new insight into the deadly U.S. Capitol Riot – following the invaders as they search for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers, sit in the vice seat -President Mike Pence and flip through documents from lawmakers.

The nearly 13-minute edited footage was shot by war correspondent Luke Mogelson and posted Sunday by The New Yorker, for which Mogelson is a contributing writer.

The video opens with scenes of hordes of pro-Trump rioters overpowering the U.S. Capitol Police and entering the seat of American democracy through shattered doors and windows.

“You are outnumbered!” a rioter can be heard telling a small contingent of cops trying to hold the line in a hallway on the Capitol. “There are millions of us out there, and we are listening to Trump, your boss!”

The riot contingent supported the overwhelmed cops in a hallway across the size of their group and made their way to a staircase, with one invader shouting as they split up, “We love you guys!” Take it easy!”

A group of dozens chanted: “Treason! Treason! Betrayal! ”As they walked the halls, the video shows.

“Knock Knock!” a man mocked as the doors to the Senate gallery were slammed, sending rioters pouring inside. “We are here!”

Members of this group can be heard questioning the fate of congressional lawmakers, who tried to certify the results of Joe Biden’s presidential victory when riot broke out over a rally in which Trump encouraged his supporters to “fight like hell” against the process.

“Where are they f – k?” a man shouted when he saw the deserted floor of the Senate.

“Where’s Nancy?” was another call.

As rioters dressed in riot gear made their way to the Senate, a debate erupted over the optics of the takeover.

The spit centered on an intruder taking a seat in the chair reserved for Senate Speaker Pence – who was accused by Trump of not doing enough to fight the election results and was among those forced to evacuate when riot struck.

“Hey, get up from that chair!” Larry Brock, a retired Texas Air Force Lt. Col. wearing a zipped tie, can be heard saying to the unidentified man in Pence’s seat.

“No, it’s our chair!” cried a third man.

“It’s not our chair,” Brock replied. “I love you guys, you are brothers, but we can’t be disrespectful.”

A rioter challenged Brock further, citing a conspiracy theory that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against Trump.

“They can steal an election, but we can’t sit in their chair?” the man asked.

“No, we can’t stand that either!” Brock insisted. “Look, this is a PR war. … We are better than that.

As the group bickered, others searched the offices of lawmakers, apparently looking for documents to support their claim the election was rigged.

A handful of intruders came across papers detailing what has been identified as “the Republican Senator from Texas’ objection to the Arizona election results.”

The discovery left some confused as to what the articles purported to show.

“His objection! He was going to sell us all the time! a man rants.

“Wait, no, that’s a good thing!” another sounded huddled around the document.

One of Trump’s most staunch supporters in Congress, Cruz was among those who questioned the legitimacy of Biden’s Arizona victory, filing an unsuccessful protest even within hours of the riot.

Two others flipped through a filing cabinet, apparently also looking for evidence or incriminating material, the video shows.

“There must be something here that we can use against these bastards,” a man muttered, flipping through the pages at random.

“[Republican Missouri Sen. Josh] Hawley, Cruz. I think Cruz would like us to do that, ”another man sang. “I think we are good.”

Above them, in the gallery, “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley – wearing a horned helmet and red, white and blue face paint – sang unintelligibly, rhythmically trampling his feet and the pole. ‘an American flag.

In a later segment, Chansley – also known as Jake Angeli – descended on the Senate floor, closely followed by a lone cop, the video shows.

“You are patriotic f-king,” Angeli told the group. “Look at this guy. He’s covered in blood. God bless you.”

The man Angeli was referring to, lying on the ground with a small stain of blood on his t-shirt, said he “had been shot in the face with some kind of plastic bullet”, but refused an answer. offer of medical help.

As Angeli stepped onto the stage and prepared to sit in Pence’s seat, the cop did his best to disperse the crowd.

“Is there any chance I can get you out of the Senate wing?” He asked.

Answered the bloodied man on the ground: “We will. I made sure they weren’t disrespecting the place.

Angeli, however, decided to make it home.

“I’m going to sit in this chair because Mike Pence is a king’s traitor,” he said.

As the cop watched, Angeli asked another rioter to use his phone to take a picture of him sitting in Pence’s chair.

Once Angeli got her picture, the cop took another crack.

“Now that you’ve done that, can I get you out of this room, please?” He asked.

The group seemed to obey, but not before Angeli scribbled a note on a piece of paper in front of Pence’s seat: “It’s only a matter of time.”[,] Justice is coming! “

In a later segment, however, Angeli and others were back on the stage, using a megaphone to shout a “prayer.”

“Thank you, Heavenly Father, for being the inspiration for these policemen to allow us to enter the building, to allow us to exercise our rights, to allow us to send a message to all the tyrants, the communists and globalists, ”says Angeli.

In the lobby outside the Senate Chamber, the cops were doing what they could to get the rioters out of the building.

“We support you guys, okay?” a rioter could be heard saying to an officer. “We know you are doing your job.”

Back outside the Capitol, however, the scene was different as another contingent of rioters clashed with cops trying to restore order.

“F – k the blue! F – k the blue! Some in the crowd chanted, the video shows, in apparent reference to the police.

Five people died in the chaos, including a United States Capitol Police officer sprayed with pepper and beaten with a fire extinguisher.

Dozens of people have been arrested and charged so far, though authorities have said the number is expected to rise to the hundreds.
