GLENDALE, AZ – One person has died and two others are injured after an accident in the wrong direction in the West Valley.
The crash happened along the northbound 101 Loop near Cardinals Way in Glendale early Monday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the driver of the vehicle the wrong way round sustained non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. The two occupants of the vehicle in the wrong direction were women, DPS said at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle who was struck by the wrong driver, identified only as a male, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Depreciation is under investigation as a factor in the accident.
The causeway was closed for several hours but reopened around 6 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
