Nissan Pathfinder 2022, Frontier teased before February

Nissan has a new teaser site ahead of the launch of two models. While the company doesn’t specifically identify them, it’s pretty clear that these are the next-gen Pathfinder crossover and Frontier pickup. They debut on February 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

While the teaser site doesn’t tell us anything about them, spy shots and rumors fill in some of the gaps in these new vehicles. Nissan has so far kept Pathfinder development vehicles under heavy camouflage, but the render below takes some of the cover off. The new front end has styling similarities to the recently refreshed Armada, such as the bracket-shaped position lights and the thicker V-section of the grille.

The revised interior features a larger infotainment screen with a strip of buttons underneath. The center console has a cable shifter and electronic parking brake.

Mechanically, the new Pathfinder would share its platform with the Altima and Maxima. A The nine-speed automatic transmission could replace the existing model’s CVT. Under the hood, the crossover could adopt the Altima’s 2.0-liter variable-compression turbocharged engine.

When releasing the Navara pickup for South America, the company may have shown the new Frontier (above). It’s the truck in the middle between the Titan and Navara.

Assuming this image is accurate, the new Frontier has a square face with rectangular headlights and a block grille. Even the fog lights have a tiny, rectangular shape to accentuate this motif even more.

Spy shots of the Frontier’s cabin (in the gallery above) show a new infotainment system. The four-wheel-drive system controller is located on the center console and includes 2WD, 4WD Hi and 4WD Low settings.

Under the hood, there’s the 2020 Frontier’s 3.8-liter V6 which currently produces 310 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 281 pound-feet (381 Newton-meters) of torque. The truck comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
