Chrissy Teigen’s trip to Biden debut sparks criticism, star responds: ‘It’s not my fault’

The cookbook author, 35, traveled to Washington DC for Wednesday’s presidential inauguration ceremony, which saw Joe Biden assume the role of President of the United States.

Not only was Teigen a staunch supporter of Biden throughout his presidential run, but her husband, John Legend, is also set to perform on the “Celebrating America” television special on Wednesday night.

Ahead of his trip to the Capitol, Teigen shared a photo of his son Miles, 2, standing in his suitcase on social media.

“My baby had her first big lip pushing her car down the driveway,” she wrote. “Still happy to pack for the inauguration!”

However, one Twitter user was not happy with the “Chrissy’s Court” star’s post and triggered a response that has since been deleted.

“Hey Chrissy DC locals aren’t very ‘happy’ right now and can’t even ‘pack’ their cars to get to the grocery store due to the military condition the city is in, but yeah , LOL fell especially in the event of a pandemic, “wrote the social media user, per Buzzfeed.” How happy !!! “

The tweet referred to increased security in the city, which was installed after the Capitol riots that occurred earlier this month.

Additionally, traveling during the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic has been criticized because it increases the risk of the new virus spreading.

However, Teigen had no problem defending himself.

“It’s not my fault but I’m sorry you’re frustrated,” she answered. “I just like to share what we’re doing and everything.”

At one point, the reviewer also said they blamed the former model for “being deaf and planning a” happy “trip to the center of the problem” and said “we will even be able to see “Legend’s next performance, by Buzzfeed.

Teigen responded again.

“For shit love, why are you still mad at me, all i wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference,” she retorted.

The star also shared a handful of happy photos on Instagram to celebrate the special day, including one of herself, Legend, Miles and the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Luna.

“I must have been delusional in a previous life,” she captioned the post softly.

Teigen and Legend are just a few of the stars to be seen in Washington on Wednesday, as music legends Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks all performed at the ceremony.

Additionally, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and more are expected to perform for the televised event, which will be hosted by Tom Hanks.
