Super Bowl LV will have 22,000 fans attending Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., Including 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers, the NFL announced on Friday.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a press release that healthcare workers would be league guests to thank them for their service during the coronavirus pandemic. Health care workers will come from hospitals in Tampa and other parts of central Florida and receive free tickets to the game.

“These dedicated healthcare workers continue to put their lives at risk to serve others, and we owe them our continued gratitude,” said Goodell. “We hope in a small way that this initiative inspires our country and recognizes these true American heroes. It is also an opportunity to promote the importance of vaccination and appropriate health practices, including the wearing of masks in public places.”
There will be 14,500 additional fans allowed to attend the Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. The NFL said protocols for fans attending the outdoor game include mandatory mask wear, social distancing, pod seats, contactless concession stands and other security checkpoints.

I can’t wait to see the positive impact this game has on the Tampa Bay area, and my family and I can’t wait to see the big game. “
Several teams have started welcoming fans throughout the season. Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., will each have a limited number of fans in the stands for the conference championship games.
